They offer an unrivalled concept-to-commissioning design and construct capability.
Due to expansion they are now looking to recruit a number of Intermediate to Senior Quantity Surveying positions within the Utilities Sector.

Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
•Interpretation/understanding of the respective obligations, responsibilities and liabilities of the parties to the contract and provision of advice/guidance on them to the site team as appropriate
•Interpretation/understanding of the contract estimate (including settlement adjustments) and provision of advice/guidance on it to the site team as appropriate. Ensuring that all site staff adhere to the agreed site procedures and reporting systems. 
•Preparation and production of all agreed reports to predetermined deadlines. 
•Delegation/allocation of Quantity Surveying tasks to Assistants including setting objectives and monitoring their progress. 
•Attending site meetings. 
•Contributing to the resolution of commercial, contractual and construction problems. 
•Protecting commercial interests including prompt payment for work executed. 
•Other duties/functions as required by the Project Manager/Project Surveyor.

Requirements:
•Quantity Surveying related degree, HND or HNC
•RICS or ICES membership
•Previous experience working for a contractor within the civil engineering or water industry
•Experience in management of: Subcontract accounts; procurement schedules; applications for payment; final accounts; cost/value reporting; variations/CES
•Familiar with NEC and IChemE forms of contract
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent negotiation skills

Experienced Contracts Manager / Engineer required to join our clients existing team as the replacement for their retiring Contracts Manager. Our Client were formed in 1980 and carries out General Civil Engineering works contracts in the South East for Local Authorities and Industry turning over about £5M.

Contracts Manager required for day-to-day control, from award of contract to final account of up to a maximum of 3 sites, dependent on their value.

Specific Duties:

•	On award of contract an initial site visit, assimilation of the Contract documents, discussion with the Estimator; production of a resourced programme and relevant health &amp; safety documentation.

•	Attend pre-contract meeting with client in the company of the Estimator and Senior Contracts Manager (if required – subject to value/complexity of contract)

•	Producing a materials schedule for the buyer to obtain best prices and appropriate delivery periods; flagging up any long-term deliveries.

•	The day-to-day supervision and monitoring of the site by sufficient site visits and phone contacts as is necessary. Passing materials requisitions to the Buyer to obtain timely deliveries. Arranging material call offs, plant movements and inspections by the client.

•	Recording variations, verbal instructions and measurements for Invoice purposes as and when they occur. Recording delays, plant breakdowns, labour absences etc on the daily diary, which will also be an accurate record of the labour &amp; plant used on all sites. Collection and approval of material/plant delivery tickets.

•	Compilation of Interim &amp; final accounts; monitoring and checking of costs.

•	Carry out final inspection on site with Foreman/Chargehand.

•	Attend monthly Management meeting and report on results achieved during the month.
